MENACHEM Z. ROSENSAFT
General Counsel, World Jewish Congress; Editor of God, Faith & Identity from the Ashes: Reflections of Children and Grandchildren of Holocaust Survivors

Born in the Displaced Persons camp of Bergen-Belsen, Menachem Z. Rosensaft, the son of two survivors of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp and the Nazi concentration camp of Bergen-Belsen, has been one of the foremost leaders and activists of the Second Generation movement for the past four decades. He teaches about the law of genocide and war crimes trials at the law schools of Columbia and Cornell Universities. He is the founding chairman of the International Network of Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors, and was appointed to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council by Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
